Spike Lee Set to Direct Movie Musical About Viagra

Spike Lee is set to direct a new musical about Viagra, according to Deadline.

The forthcoming film was inspired by Pfizer’s discovery of erectile dysfunction drug sildenafil, which they found while working on a treatment for heart-related chest pain. The musical will be based on David Kushner’s 2018 Esquire article “All Rise: The Untold Story Of The Guys Who Launched Viagra.”

Lee co-wrote the screenplay with Kwame Kwei-Armah, and the musical’s original songs will be written by Stew Steward and Heidi Rodewald.

Lee tells Deadline:
