Mila J’s newest single ‘Smoke, Drink, Break Up’ is blowing up the radio air waves just in time for the warm weather; now all eyes are on the Chilombo gang. Not only are they beautiful, this family is full of sisters with angelic voices. Mila’s little sister, Jhene Aiko, was recently on Drake’s ‘Would U Like a Tour’ line up, and performed during the Coachella festival. Five years her sister’s senior, Mila has been struggling for recognition since 2006. After two failed girl groups and features on songs with IMx and Omarion; Mila resurfaced as Japollonia in 2012 releasing a mixtape on Datpiff. Currently signed to Motown records, she is planning on releasing her second album M.I.L.A this year. Although, they may be completely different, the comparisons have already been swirling through the industry. With Jhene’s recent popularity it seems as though Mila is ready to ride the mini-Chilombo’s coattails. Not only do they have an uncanny resemblance, it seems as though the two are establishing a sibling rivalry in the R&B realm with love songs, hate songs and where would a Cali-girl be without her beloved pot songs? With so many similarities is there really room for both of the Chilombo’s?
