An unidentified man has reportedly been found hanging from a tree in Texas, according to the Houston Chronicle. Police say his body was found outside of a store on Monday morning (June 15) in the 2500 block of Ella Boulevard in Houston.
Video of the man’s body is now circulating on social media. In the clip, you can see emergency personnel on the scene. As of now, there aren’t any more details available to the public.
For the past few days, multiple reports of Black men found hanging from trees have surfaced. On May 31, a Black man by the name of Malcolm Harsch was found hanging from a tree in Victorville, California. Details surrounding his death are scarce, but the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department says that they are conducting a full investigation.
Ten days later, 24-year-old Robert Fuller was found hanging from a tree in Palmdale, California. “Words can’t describe how much my family is hurting right now,” Fuller’s older sister Diamond Alexander wrote on social media. “Today, we just got word that Robert body was found hanging in a tree out in Palmdale. It’s still under investigation. If anyone seen anything please come forward. Brother you will forever be in our heart. RIP.”
According to My News LA, Lt. Brandon Dean of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau said his death indicates signs of a suicide. Investigators are currently awaiting the autopsy results and gathering information about possible mental illness from the victim’s family members.
Although the investigation is still ongoing, the City of Palmdale Government’s Facebook page declared Fuller’s death as a suicide on June 11. Today (June 15), they recanted their original suicide ruling and said they want a complete investigation of Fuller’s death.
“The City of Palmdale remains committed to a thorough and complete investigation into the death of Robert Fuller,” the post reads. “We continue to request the State Attorney General and the FBI-Los Angeles Civil Rights division take an active role in the ongoing investigation. The City of Palmdale will not rest until an exhaustive review of Mr. Fuller’s death has been completed and justice is given to him.”
