Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced it’s nominees for 2021 induction today. Class of 2021 will be inducted during a ceremony held in Cleveland later this year. From Hip-Hop and R&B genre, New Yorkers Jay-Z, LL Cool J and Mary J Blige gets nods for the nominations for which the fans can vote on the official website of the museum.
2021’s nominations sees most female nominees as 7 out of total 16 acts are women. Chairman of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation John Sykes said in a statement “This remarkable ballot reflects the diversity and depth of the artists and music the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame celebrates. These Nominees have left an indelible impact on the sonic landscape of the world and influenced countless artists that have followed them.”
Criteria to be eligible for nomination is an artist should have atleast passed 25 years since their first official recording. Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige have received nominations for first time meanwhile legend LL Cool J has been nominated for the sixth time. Voting for the ballot will be closed in April and official inductees list will be announced a month later.
