Cordae has dropped off his hard-hitting new single, “The Parables.”
The 23-year-old rapper narrates several scenarios that have made a major impact in his life, but he also understands that telling a story doesn’t necessarily mean the other party will understand or comprehend it fully. As Cordae reflects on some of the mistakes he made in the past, he pulls out a notebook and writes his own story in bullet points, which explores the story of a man (portrayed by the rapper in the visual) drinking, stealing a car, crashing it and getting beaten up by a group of men, only to crawl back into his home empty-handed and in pain.
“The Parables” was first previewed on Travis Scott‘s .WAV Radio in July 2020 and serves as the second single of his upcoming studio album. Cordae’s last full-length dates back to July 2019’s The Lost Boy, which received nominations for Best Rap Album and Best Rap Song at the 2020 GRAMMYs.
