‘Bad Boys For Life’ Getting Early On-Demand Release

While Coronavirus has stopped the masses from seeing movies in theaters, several entertainment companies have announced plans to give select films an early digital release, so that movie fans can watch new films at home on-demand. One of these films that will soon be available to view is the widely-praised Bad Boys For Life.

According to Variety, Sony Pictures has set an early on-demand March 31 release date for Bad Boys For Life. Films typically have a 90-day waiting period between their theatre releases and digital arrivals. However, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Disney, Lionsgate, Sony, Universal, STX Films and Warner Bros. have announced quite a few early on-demand releases for films, including Onward, Birds of Prey, The Hunt and The Invisible Man.

Bad Boys For Life will still arrive on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on April 21. The Martin Lawrence and Will Smith-starring film release theaters back in January and is currently the highest-grossing movie of the year, raking in upwards of $204 million in North America and over $291 million globally. The film also marked the most lucrative installment of the series, with the Bad Boys sequel previously earning $271 million and 1995’s inaugural Bad Boys generating $141 million.

As a result of Bad Boys For Life’s success, a fourth installment of the series is reportedly already in the works. Furthermore, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the next movie’s wait-time should be much shorter than the wait for Bad Boys For Life.
