The Texas Governor confirmed Tuesday that 14 children and one teacher were killed in a shooting at a Texas elementary school, Tuesday afternoon.
The 18-year-old suspect was also killed after the shooting incident at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, authorities said.
The 18-year-old suspect was identified as Salvador Ramos, according to the Gov. Greg Abbott. He was a resident in the Uvalde area.
The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District (UCISD) posted about an “active shooter” at Robb Elementary at 12:17 p.m. local time and said law enforcement was on site.
Initial reports said two died in the shooting and 13 were injured at Robb Elementary School, a spokesperson from Uvalde Memorial Hospital told CNN, but that number rose to 15 as more information was released.
Gov. Abbott confirmed just before 5 p.m. that 14 children, one teacher and the shooter himself were killed in the incident.
